Sunday 16/09/2007 The U12 girls had their first
ever league fixture in the U12 South Division
of the South Wales Girls' League, at home to Cardiff
City and Porthcawl Lightning Strikers FC. Player of the day Molly Tong.
First Match Thornhill Athletic 1 Cardiff City 4
The girls made a great start against a skillful
and well-drilled Cardiff team, who went 2-0 up . Thornhill
pulled one back through Chloe Jones. The game was played at a fast
pace, and Thornhill tired slightly towards the end, giving a final score of 1-4.
Both 'keepers were busy throughout the match, Elyssia making some excellent
saves, and the score could have been closer but for some great stops by the
Cardiff 'keeper.
Second Match Thornhill Athletic 4 Porthcawl
Lightning 7
Porthcawl took an early lead, then Becky Hunt
equalised. Porthcawl then opened the gap to 5-1 by half-time.
However with some positional changes at half time, the second half was a
different story, and Chloe Jones scored a hat-trick. Final score 4-7.
